Today marks the 86th year on earth for the incomparable, Maya Angelou.

She was one of the authors my Mother and I bonded over when I first arrived in the U.S back in 2000.

Happy Birthday; you’ve inspired me to hope to live my life with such grace, truth and perseverance.  With your life alone, you have touched so many; with your words, millions more.
