I live a block away from an open lot in NYC. I have many pictures of cats who have made it their home. We leave food for them sometimes and based on the empty tins and boxes around, we aren’t the only ones.
As a pet owner it makes me think of the plight of pets who don’t have a home and also of people who have no where to be warm.
If you see a homeless person out in the cold in NYC, please call 311. They will send help.

This brings to mind an orange tabby I see from time to time, wandering around in the cold near where I live. And the temperature dipped to minus 15 earlier this week. Very sad.
