Adventures in Reading: 2024 Review

Changing my approach to reading was instrumental in me getting back on track with my reading goals this year; choosing books that were vetted by content creators I trust, friends and my TBR list really solidified it as a great reading year.

I ended the year with way too many books on my “Currently Reading” shelf, that’s been stressing me out but I want to make sure that I stick to intuitive reading and not get back to a place of trying to force myself to finish a book just to check it off the list.

After the first book of the year mishap and whatever that was that Sister Souljah released, I had quite an epic run.

Not shown: physical books from my TBR shelf and my library. In total I read 30 books; 4 of those were re-reads.

Here are my rankings: I am prepared to go to war behind my choices.

Personal Top Three: Babel, or the Necessity of Violence: An Arcane History of the Oxford Translators’ Revolution by R.F. Kuang
Allow Me To Introduce Myself: A Novel by Onyi Nwabineli
Love After Love by Ingrid Persaud

Favorite Biography/ Memoir: How to Say Babylon by Safiya Sinclair
Favorite Anthology: Nearly All the Men in Lagos are Mad by Damilare Kuku
Best Recommendation: Allow Me to Introduce Myself: A Novel by Onyi Nwabineli
